Talens 060 Varnish for Oil Pastels is specially designed to make works of art with oil pastels or wax crayons water- and smudge-proof. This satin-smooth varnish forms a transparent, protective layer without affecting or yellowing the colours.<\/p>\n

even though the varnish appears white in the jar, it dries completely transparent and leaves no white cast.
\nThe white colour comes from the water-based varnish containing microscopic resin particles that scatter light while it is still wet. Once the water evaporates and the resin layer forms, it becomes clear and colourless.<\/p>\n

Application:
\n<\/strong>Make sure your drawing is free of loose pastel residue. For example, use a soft brush, compressed air or a kneading eraser to do this. Shake the bottle well so that the ingredients are well mixed for even application. Then use a very soft brush to avoid streaking and shifting of the pastel. Carefully apply the varnish and set long sweeping strokes in the same direction.<\/p>\n

Oil pastels do not dry out completely, so let the work rest for at least a week.<\/p>\n
