Jacquard’s Cyanotype Kit makes solar printing easier than ever and includes everything you need to get started. This 2-component kit is made for photographic blueprints on paper and fabric, or cyanotype. Cyanotype is the “original” solar printing process, one of the earliest photographic techniques.
Harness the power of the sun to create detailed prints of virtually any object that casts shadows: tools, toys, plants, leaves, rocks, sand, rope, lace, and more. Simply place the object on a surface and expose it to sunlight (UV radiation).
Simply fill each bottle with water to make Stock Solutions A & B and then mix the two in equal parts to make the cyanotype sensitizer. Cover the supplied Hahnemühle Platinum Rag Fine Art Paper with the sensitizer and, once dry, make prints by exposing them to sunlight or UV (10-20 minutes, depending on conditions), using the supplied glass print frame and objects or a film negative to create an image. After exposure, the prints are processed in a container of cold water and air-dried.
Great for photographers, mixed media artists, printmakers, quilters, children and more. The cyanotype process is simple, forgiving, fast, magical and fun. Capture the nuance of every shade: a fun group activity for any age!
