You can use Rit ProLine for almost all fabrics such as cotton, linen, rayon, wool, silk, nylon, polyester, acrylic, acetate and some plastics .
Not recommended for fabrics with rubber backing or those labeled as “Cold Water Wash” or “Steam Only.”

Rit ProLine may not be effective on bleach-damaged fabrics.

Note that the result of the color is least affected on a light (white/cream) background. When you paint a colored object/garment, the color of the paint blends, so to speak, with the current color of the object/garment.

Use Rit Color Remover when you want to lighten the existing color of the fabric. Rit Color Remover can only be used on cotton, linen, silk and nylon.
Do not use bleach to remove the existing color!

– Prewash the materials to remove any finishes or stains.

– Preparing the dye solution:

• For every pound of dry material, use 2 full scoops of dye. To achieve a darker or more intense color, double the amount.
  Completely dissolve the dye powder in 2 cups of water (as hot as is safe for the material).

– Next, choose a dye method:

• Sink or bucket method (for dyeing natural materials): For general dyeing projects, use the sink or bucket method (dye in hot water in a bucket or sink).
• Stove-top method: If you are looking for the most vibrant color possible (or you are dyeing synthetic materials or fabrics containing more than 35% polyester), use the stove-top method (dyeing in hot water in a pan).

– Read the instructions on the package beforehand

For best results: read the instructions on the package beforehand, be sure to stir constantly for even color.
Note that the result depends on the amount of paint, dye time, type of fabric, current fabric color, dye bath temperature, etc., among others.

Color
Paint blends with the existing color(s) of the fabric.
If the garment you are dyeing is white or off-white, you should be able to achieve a corresponding color.
However, if your garment already has a color, your only option is to over-dye it with a darker color or remove the existing color with RIT Color Remover (for cotton, linen, silk and nylon only).

Patterns and logos
If the garment you are dyeing has a pattern or logo, the color you use will blend with the existing color(s) in the fabric and create new colors.

Bleaching spots and sun damage
Sun and bleach damage the fabric, making it very difficult to dye. Unfortunately, this means that we cannot guarantee that dye will cover the stains.
